Council Grants £375 towards the Defib at the Running Club

Maltby Running Club is now the proud owner of a defibrillator, which was made possible by a generous funding donation from Maltby Town Council. Maltby’s own running club, which will be celebrating its 40th year next year, has always been aware of the need to promote health, welfare and fitness of local people and recognised that a defibrillator may help save lives at trail races and other events.

Secretary Brian Lowndes said “Maltby Running Club is proud to support local people to get fit and make new friends. Our membership fee is possibly the lowest in the country, as are our race entry fees; the generosity of sponsors such as Maltby Town Council mean that we can  still look after runners. We obviously hope that we never to need to use it but it does give more peace of mind.

We hope to see everyone at our Boxing Day Race this year – details on our website” Chair of Maltby Town Council Councillor Chris McMahon (pictured) and Councillor Andrew Laird presented the defibrillator to Maltby Runners.
